because, clearly, it hasn't been blogging! Don't get me wrong, the post ideas are still going strong (unfortunately, the barrage of voices in my head usually only comes around 10pm when I'm trying to fall asleep) but I just keep getting so gosh darn busy (aka prioritizing other things over writing right now) that I don't get back to jotting them down. & even more unfortunately when I do start to write (type) them down, they don't come out quite as cute/witty as they sounded in my head as I was drifting off to dreamland.
But what I WE have been up to lately, is a whole lot of new mommy-baby fun. Balancing the working/mommy-ing/wife-ing thing is still a work in progress, so I had to tone down my decorating this year, not to mention my Christmas baking & shopping. ...but I have to admit with the craziness that having a baby brings, I haven't had a chance to miss it (yet). Oh, & I have a new addition to buying Kate Christmas outfits. It's a problem. Seriously. Like, I need to stop now since Christmas is a week away & she will only get 1 wear out of it between now & then so put down the jingle bell onesie & walk away problem. (As you will soon see)
NOTHING beats hand-knit baby booties.... or little baby UGG type boots (note, these are actually Carters brand)
We set up the highchair in the kitchen so that Kate can better watch & help Mommy make dinner - I may have shed a tear or two at how quickly she's growing up that she can sit in her high chair now.
These are little boy pajama's that I couldn't help myself but buy. they have a cute little Santa face, which her carseat straps are blocking quite perfectly in this photo. I put the pink hat on to make sure people know she's a girl... which only works 50% of the time anyway.
& Speaking of Santa... my little peanut was a rockstar on her first visit to meet St. Nick. We'll see how that goes again next year...
She also met Rudolph... who happened to come home with Grandma from Costco one day; and will require his own big Christmas storage bin in the attic now. (he's HUGE!)
Oh, and she tried to eat Rudolph too. We may need to re-think this waiting until 6 months to try solid food thing...
Bundled up on her way to the annual town tree lighting..
Helping hang her first ornament on the Christmas tree. Here's the Santa face I was talking about earlier!
And then immediately after this photo was taken having a diaper blow-out that required a bath & outfit change. Oh the joys. :)
And, perhaps my new favorite "fabulous mommy" thing I've discovered... I make the "Kate, smile for the camera" face to the camera now... mmmmm... about 99% of the time. Seriously. I was looking through photos that I'm in through the past few months & nearly every.single.one. I'm making this, or a similar type photo. Must work on that...
So my apologies for the bit of silence (& for this rambling post). But I hope that you're having a Very Merry Holiday Season too! & I promise I'll try harder to get my act together for 2013... which means that I should probably get back to writing that 2013 Goals & Resolution post soon...
xo
p.s. sorry some of these photos are a repeat from my instagram feed (erin_ethier) they just look so much better through filters. (aka my photog skills STINK!)
p.p.s. Re: my addiction, I realized that I didn't include photos with more of her Christmas/holiday outfits (she has 4 others, not pictured), but you get the gist.

Love this post... I have been soooo quiet on my blog this whole pregnancy (much more than i expected) and I know with a newborn right around the corner the silence will continue.. I too think of all these posts late at night and yet they never get written- it is really good to see pics of you and your adorable lil girl though when you have the time! Glad your holiday season is full of laughs and new outfits! Those stripes are adorable! ;-) Merry Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteAwww she's beautiful Erin... Christmas must have been SO much fun! I'm thrilled things are going so well for you! xo
ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely adorable! Definitely in the same camp - tons of blog posts as drafts, just need some quiet time to get them out! :)
ReplyDeleteAlso - we too are holding out on baby food until 6-month-mark...despite well-meaning "suggestions" from family... :)
